HSVG is a custom-built relational database of equine health information that contains concise information about common problems to rare diseases. Records are contained in 1 of 9 categories:

These records are extensively interlinked, providing a uniquely contextualized approach to any equine health issue.

We continuously add and update the records in HSVG. We have placed great emphasis on completing the MY OBSERVATIONS records first. You can find "full access" records with a keyword search, in the alphabetical browse lists, and hyperlinked inside other records. Incomplete (or "partial access") records are listed inside full access records, with no hyperlink. Many other records are hidden from view, and will be available later. After we complete a partial or hidden record we change it to "full access" and it becomes immediately available to you after the app has been synchronized to your mobile device.

This is a great reference app. I work full time at a large horse farm and now I wont go to work without my iPod touch . This app provides in depth information about care, handling,emergencies etc. I also love how you can type in the symptom youre observing in a horse and it will give a list of possible ailments.

Awesome little app! I have learned so much just reading through the different sections. This is a great item for us horse owners to have with us at all times. You dont even need internet so it will be extremely handy for mountain trail rides. Encyclopaedic in content, plus great videos to see exactly how to perform many procedures and all presented professionally in plain language. Im telling all my horse friends to get it! The best $5 you will ever spend on your horse... it might even save his life some day!

Its very very helpful in the sense that it is extremely specific! You can learn so much too! And the price is great for what it can teach you! Every horse owner should have this app! The only thing is that its a bit lagging and glitchy. Please fix the bugs. **Would be 100 times better with picture examples!!

Its totally worth the cost! Ive used this app hundreds of times. The search function works incredibly well making it easy to search for terms, symptoms, and changes youve noticed with your horse. The app is constantly updated with new information. Highly recommended for anyone that is looking for a pocket horse care application.

Some bad moments

Can not give a review because the app crashes after one second

I have lived and worked with horses all my life and no literature out there compares to what this app can do for a horse owner. I love the easy access of everything and especially the variety of subjects it covers. It really is as if your vet was standing right by your side as your horse is in trouble. The navigation is easy to master and you can even call your vet right from the app. The design is beautifully done and makes me want to use this app not only in emergency situations but also as a learning tool to educate myself more on equine healthcare. They have instructional photos and videos and even a "learning annex". Horse Side Vet Guide is definitely what every horse owner has been waiting for for a long time and should download immediately!

This is without a doubt the best equestrian app that is on the market. Not only does the app have hundreds of explanations for diagnoses, treatments etc but it also has educational videos and quizzes. Brilliant!

I love this app! Quick reference guides, detailed pictures, excellent explanations. Even an area for common further education. I love that I can store my vet contacts in the app so that ANYONE can call the vet if I have my hands full. Best purchase I have made in a long time. Thank you!
